‘I hope a good Samaritan can help me’

Legasa Mollo is a desperate man. All he needs is a good Samaritan who can assist him with an operation to his left ear.

LIMPOPO – The 42-year-old man from Makgophong village in Zebediela, outside Polokwane is living a tough life.
Mollo told CV how he was once attacked by gangsters in 2014 and his ear was damaged in the attack.
He said following the attack he went to one of the provincial hospitals in the province but things got worse.
“I had to undergo six ear operations, unfortunately my ear was further damaged,” said Mollo.
Mollo is currently unemployed and cannot afford treatment for his ear.
“The pain gets worse everyday and is all over my body.
“I can no longer deal with it,” he said.
He said two of the operations were done in 2014 and he was told his ear drum is damaged and needs to be rebuilt. He said his ear condition makes life difficult for him. “During the previous operations I believed it would heal, but that did not happen,” he said.
He added, “This affects both my left hand and both legs as they can no longer function properly. I fear the condition I’m facing might paralyse me.”


After another operation in 2015, he was sent for a speech and therapy session.
“The hammer in my ear was was also damaged and my inner ear had to be removed.”
