The suspects assaulted the victims, dragged one of the passengers on the road, which resulted in her sustaining serious injuries. They robbed them of cellphones and other valuables,” Ngoepe explained.

Police were notified, reacted swiftly and a manhunt ensued until all four suspects were apprehended. Two taxis were confiscated during the arrest and the suspects will appear before the Mokopane Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 March.

Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba says he is perturbed by those who still engage in violent acts, including taking the law into their own hands.
