Health Department warns of bogus recruitment advertisements on social media
The Department of Health says the advertisement has been posted on various social media platforms
LIMPOPO – The Department of Health has distanced itself from the supposedly “OPEN ADVERTISEMENT OF POSITIONS FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN VARIOUS HEATH FACILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH” which they say is currently doing rounds on various social media platforms.
According to the department the said advertisement states that the department has vacancies for specialists (various), medical officers, dentists, professional nurses (including specialty nurses and lectures-nurse training), staff nurse, nursing assistants, pharmacists, allied health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and hearing audiologists, radiographers, clinical psychologists, dental therapists and oral hygienists), dieticians and paramedics.
The department advised the public to ignore the contents of the bogus advertisement saying the advert is illegal and fraudulently created.
They added that as the department they will never advertise any vacant positions without following the correct procedures required for advertisement of posts in public sector; such as using the appropriate departmental letterhead, circular number, date of advert, reference for all advertised positions, closing date for advertised positions and signature of the head of department.
The matter is currently under investigation.
