Limpopo’s music King Papa Penny (Ahee) drags AKA over the coals

Limpopo's music King Papa Penny (Ahee) was a panelist during the The Comedy Central Roast of AKA. He spoke to Review about his experience

POLOKWANE -After the roasting of Steve Hoffmeyr, Kenny Kunene and Somizi proved to be a success, South African Rapper and Entrepreneur Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, “AKA” decided to sit in the hot seat and be roasted by a panel which included no other than Limpopo’s own music sensation, Papa Penny (Ahee).

Limpopo’s finest, Tsonga music sensation and reality star Papa Penny tells REVIEW that he enjoyed every second of it and his being picked for the panel shows that he is one of the best out there.

“Being recognised and picked among a number of amazing local celebrities, says to me that I’m one of the best. Even though nothing said on the show was taken personally, I thoroughly enjoyed roasting AKA, it was a fun experience indeed,” he says.

Be on the look out for Papa Penny’s new reality show on Mzansi Channel 161.

He further explains that he loves entertaining people and that is why he agreed to be part of the panel. “I’ve had my fair share of roasting on social media, so it felt good to be on the other foot. My biggest expectation was to make the audience happy, for people to laugh and enjoy the show, all while enjoying myself on stage,” he says.

He adds that people must learn to respect and love themselves and learn not to take things personal, especially when one is in the entertainment industry, Papa Penny concluded.

Papa Penny was joined by nine Mzansi celebrities, Nina Hastie, Mark Fish, Francios van Coke, Moonchild Sanelly, Joey Rasdien, Pierre van Pletzen, Davido and Moshe Ndiki and the Master Roaster, Pearl Thusi for the recording which took place at the Teatro at Montecasino in Johannesburg on 21 February. The show will air on our screens on Monday, 11 March on Comedy Central (Channel 122).
