‘Conversations’ – Giving the youth an opportunity to tackle uncomfortable topics

POLOKWANE – The ‘Conversations’ movement is giving youth a platform to have uncomfortable conversations.

The movement which was founded by Lucy Raludzwidzwo, seeks to engage in challenges that the youth face, particularly Christian youth.

“We aim to create a platform to speak openly about challenges because we believe people die in silence, we want to break the norm,” she explained.

She explained that she has always wanted to have a talk show that people from all walks of life can relate to. Being a public speaker, speaking at different events and engaging in different topics, she realized that she needed to create a platform where youth can not be told ‘anything’ but be able to speak about everything.

Conversations will have four guest speakers who will share their personal testimonies on chosen topics which are rape, fornication, masturbation and pornography. The audience will be given an opportunity to ask questions and have their say on the topics and then there will be a prayer session.

Lucy explained that sexual purity is very close to her heart and the youth needs to be reminded that before God called us to be anything, He called us to be Holy. “I selected the topics based on my research and realized these particular challenges are greater than many others that we face. The guest speakers were selected based on what I’ve heard them speak of in previous events. Every young person, single, dating, in courtship or married is welcome and it is free entrance,” she said.

This is the first of many because it is aimed at changing the world, one person at a time. Conversations will take place at University of Limpopo on the 16 February. People can email kgopalucy@gmail.com for more information.
