UPDATE: Seshego pastor remanded in custody due to medical reasons

A 57-year-old pastor from Seshego appeared today, 15 February in the Mankweng Regional Court and was remanded in custody due to medical reasons, the police confirmed on Friday.

POLOKWANE – The court was to deliver a verdict on two counts of rape he is accused of committing in 2012. “He has been remanded in custody until 22 march for medical reasons, Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says.

The pastor together with five members of his church were arrested on Monday, 11 February on multiple crimes including rape, fraud, assault GBH, concealment of death, kidnapping, extortion and theft following intensive investigations conducted by detectives in Seshego.

His co-accused, aged between 24 and 59, were on Tuesday, 12 February remanded in custody until Monday for bail application.

Seshego pastor and five co-accused remanded in custody

POLOKWANE – A 57-year-old pastor from Seshego and five co-accused appeared today, 12 February in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on multiple charges including rape, fraud and assault grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says the pastor was remanded in custody pending the receipt of a certificate from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) confirming the schedule of his charges.

His co-accused, aged between 24 and 59, were remanded in custody until Monday 18, February for bail application.

The pastor will appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 15 February, where a verdict on two rapes he is accused of committing in 2012, is expected to be handed down, concludes Mojapelo.
