“Arson cannot be ruled out,” says DA provincial leader, Jacques Smalle

POLOKWANE – Investigations into the apparent torching DA Councillor in Polokwane, Androe Botha’s house this morning is currently underway, says the DA’s provincial leader Jacques Smalle.

“The motive is not yet known but the DA welcomes the swift response by the SAPS and the fire brigade to extinguish and investigate the fire. No one was in the house when the fire started,” Smalle said.

He added that arson cannot be ruled out and that the DA cannot speculate whether the arson is politically motivated or not.

“It is therefore important to allow the forensic team to conduct their thorough investigations that will ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book,” Smalle concluded.
