[JUST IN] Two suspects arrested in Polokwane in connection with Marks Rambau’s murder

A woman (24) was arrested at a hotel in Polokwane on Friday night and a Nigerian man (27) was arrested at his rented house in Flora Park in the early hours of this morning

POLOKWANE – Police have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Marks Rambau following the arrest of two suspects.

Rambau, who was employed by the Limpopo Department of Transport, was killed in Flora Park on Tuesday, 15 January and his partially burned body was found dumped next to the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.

According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the first to be arrested was a 24-year-old woman from Seshego, who was arrested on last night, 25 January, at a hotel in Polokwane.

The second suspect, a Nigerian man (27), was arrested in the early hours of this morning at his rented house in Flora Park.

“The vehicles, a Jeep Wrangler and VW Polo, were recovered at two different places in Polokwane,” Mojapelo confirmed.

It is believed that once Rambau’s body was dumped, the suspects then drove to his house in Penina Park, where they took his Jeep Wrangler and a TV set.

Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended investigators for their meticulous efforts that led to the arrest of the suspects. He further thanked members of the public for providing valuable information that greatly assisted the police in the investigation.

“Both suspects will be profiled to establish if they are involved in other crimes and they will appear in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Monday, 28 January on charges of murder, carjacking, housebreaking, theft and defeating the ends of justice,” Mojapelo concluded.
