Makhado social worker gunned down in front of her home

A manhunt for the suspects involved in the fatal shooting has since been launched

LIMPOPO – 45-year-old Muzila Thinavhuyo, a local social worker, was shot and killed in front of her house in a suburb in Makhado (Louis Trichardt) this weekend, the police confirmed on MOnday monring.

Thinavhuyo was shot and killed shortly after arriving at the house, said Polokwane spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“It is alleged she was parked her vehicle intending to enter the house, when unknown suspects emerged and shot her several times. Thinavhuyo was killed instantly,” Ngoepe explained.

The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but the ongoing Police investigations will reveal further information.

A case of murder is being investigated and a manhunt for the unknown suspects has been launched.

Anyone with information that can lead to the apprehension of these suspects is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Tshilidzi Nthembuluseni at 082 215 3171. Alternatively they can contact the 24-hour crime stop number at 08600 10111, the crime Line SMS 32211 or the nearest Police Station.

The Police investigations are still continuing, Ngoepe concluded.
