The Motsepe foundation has two outreach programmes, the annual ‘Christmas with our People’ and a Christmas Toy Distribution in celebration of Christmas holidays which gives them a way of sharing the joy of the holiday spirit with underprivileged families across the country.

The Foundation’s National Christmas Toy Distribution initiative is a social outreach programme launched in 2011 and to date has distributed almost a million toys to children who otherwise would have not received a toy for Christmas.

The second is the Christmas with Our People concerts. Over the past three years, the Motsepe Foundation have held concerts in five provinces, and has attracted an average of 200 000 people each year. Featuring the country’s top musicians, Christmas with Our People is a free music concert for locals to enjoy.

“They also provide a platform for young and upcoming artists from disadvantaged communities to share the limelight with national performers,” the foundation said.

This year, the concerts will be held in Polokwane, East London, Durban, Mbombela and Tshwane.
