#WFD – Curried Mince with Steamed Bread

POLOKWANE – Looking for an easy and quick recipe to make for dinner tonight? Then look no further.

This recipe by What’s for Dinner is sure to have the family asking for a second helping.

Ingredients

For the steamed bread:

 

  • 1 tsp salt

For the curried mince:

 

Method

To make the steamed bread:

 

  • Place the cake flour into a bowl
  • Add the dry yeast, sugar and salt
  • Add the water and knead until smooth and elastic
  • Place into a well-oiled bowl and allow to rise until double in size
  • Place a saucer in a large pot and place the bowl on top.
  • Cover the bowl halfway with water and bring to the boil
  • Reduce heat and let it simmer for 25-30 minutes or until firm
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool

To make the curried mince:

 

  • In a pot, brown the onion in oil
  • Add the Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder and fry for 1 minute, stirring continuously
  • Add the mince and fry until well browned
  • Add the frozen peas, Knorrox Beef Stock Cube, Robertsons Mixed Herbs and water and allow to simmer for 20 minutes
  • Just before done mix the Knorr Rich Beef & Tomato Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste then stir it into the pot and simmer for a further 5 minutes to thicken
  • Serve with wedges of steamed bread
