Chef Rae’s favorite smoothie recipe for weight-loss

Kholofelo 'Chef Rae' Masemola is all about health and wellness and her passion lies in serving up unique but healthy dishes to her clientele.

POLOKWANE – Kholofelo is the co-owner of BuenoVives in Seshego Zone 4 and has worked at several five star restaurants in both South Africa and in the United States of America.

She shares one of her sought-after weight-loss smoothie recipes with the Review readers.

“When trying to loose weight, it does not necessarily mean you have to cut out all the delicious foods and liquids. This smoothie recipe is heavenly to the palate and it will aid in the slimming down process,” Rae said.

Delicious Berry Blaster Smoothie for 2 people (You will need a blender)

Ingredients

• 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

• 2 cups of coconut water

• 2 teaspoons of chia seeds (this will add a mild nutty flavour to your smoothie)

• 2 teaspoons of hemp seeds (very high in nutrients)

• 2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla powder (this will give your smoothie a delicious vanilla taste)

• 1/4 cup of fresh raspberries

• 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries

Method:

Mix all the ingredients inside your blender, cover and mix well in the blender until all the particles have thinned and smoothed up.
