Miss Teen Common Wealth SA has a passion for young people

Tlou Dinyake visited Laerskool Ivy Park on Friday, 28 September as part of her quest in giving back to her community.

POLOKWANE – Tlou a former head girl at the school and the current Miss Teen Common Wealth South Africa, spoke to the 2019 prefects and advised them on how to play an effective role at their school.

Tlou a Gr 12 at Capricorn High School and the president of their RCL club, leads by example and at only 17 years of age she has hosted  several gala dinners and activities in aid of non-profit organisations, including the Samaritan House in Polokwane.

Tlou says that she has always been passionate about helping those in need. “As the current Miss Teen Common Wealth South Africa my responsibilities include giving back to the community and helping those in need. I don’t see this as a job as helping a person in need is not a job but a good deed. I am also a brand ambassador for the Samaritan House where I assist with making life fun and easy for the children residing at the centre. I facilitate sport activities and fun field trips for them just to have a normal life, just because one is an orphan does not mean they can not enjoy life and live it to the fullest,” she explained.

“Laerskool Ivy Park lies close to my heart and I will be lending a helping hand from time to time,” she added.

Willem Opperman, the principal at Laerskool Ivy Park , said that the school is proud of Tlou’s achievements. “She has made the school proud with her positive energy and goal driven attitude. She is very focused young lady and she is going places. Her time in the school proved that she is natural born leader and look at her now, leading by example and inspiring other youngsters in the city and abroad,” he concluded.
