Police Minister Bheki Cele announced the crime stats for 2017/2018 today.
POLOKWANE – 3 371 944 crimes were committed in the 2017/2018 period, according to the Crime Stats released by Police Minister Bheki Cele.

Police recorded crime statistics are derived from administrative data collection processes.
Zoning in on Limpopo, only 197 649 crimes were committed and reported to the police.

Cele said that the country hasn’t reached a state of lawlessness and it won’t.
He also expressed shock, saying that “never again” should such a high crime rate be recorded and noted the fear and stress that South Africans live under.
