Men gather to pray and worship as one

POLOKWANE – Almost 4 000 men attended this year’s Mighty Men Bushveld Conference held on the Snymansdrift farm last weekend.
Guest speakers, Piet Jacobs and Riekert Botha, with worship leaders, Franna Benade and Joe Niemand, had the men’s undivided attention throughout the conference.
Those who camped on the terrain braved cold showers and went without electricity, but thanks to a number of food and refreshment stalls, as well as several braais, the men were well fed.
Attendance was slightly less than previous years. Hein Snyman, member of the organising committee, ascribed this to the fact that this was the first year that the conference was not attended by Angus Buchan.
The theme this year was: O come all ye who are thirsty, taken from Isaiah 55.
Snyman said the organisers had received many testimonials since Monday as to what the conference had meant to the attendees, some from as far as the Free State, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.
The general consensus was that the weekend had been extremely uplifting.
Most attendees spoken to would recommend the conference to their friends.
