Three still on the run following armed robbery in Mokopane plaza

Armed robbers targeted a shop in the Mokopane Plaza shortly after they opened their doors on Tuesday morning.

MOKOPANE – Three unknown suspects entered Thusanang Enabling Support Services pretending to be customers.

Sgt Irene Masingi, Spokesperson for Mokopane SAPS, said one of the suspects produced a firearm and ordered the two employees to lie on the floor, before tying them up with cable ties.

“The suspects robbed employees of their cell phones and fled with a Samsung J5 cell phone, GT 222 Samsung cellphone and the shop’s Mercer computer to the of value R5 000. The victims luckily sustained no injuries.”

The SAPS in Mokopane is on a manhunt for the three suspects. “Anyone with information that can lead to an arrest can contact Detective Commander Lt Col Sekanka at 082 565 8505 or the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the Crime Line SMS 32211. Alternatively, call the nearest police station.”

The business owner declined to give comment.
