Two people seriously injured in Vermikuliet Street collision
The accident involved four vehicles; a bakkie, two sedans and a truck.
POLOKWANE – A multi-vehicle accident that happened at the intersection of Vermikuliet and River (Railway Siding) streets this morning left two people injured.
An eyewitness alleged that the bakkie was travelling down River (Railway Siding) Street into Vermikuliet Street when it collided with side of the truck.
According to a traffic officer on the scene the truck driver said he heard a crashing sound next to him and when he looked into his mirror he saw the bakkie against his front wheel. “The bakkie seemingly hit the truck and then swerved into the opposite lane where it crashed into two oncoming vehicles,” he explained.
The driver and passenger of the bakkie sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
