Entrepreneur talks through music

Growing up listening to the music the men in his house played, 29-year-old Macdonald Makwela fell in love with the beats and sound and right there he decided he wanted to pursue a career in music.

LIMPOPO – The entrepreneur and hip hop DJ from Zone 1 in Mankweng, better known as Macd De Wolf by his fans, says in the 15 years he has been in the music industry as a hip hop DJ, his fans are the reason he is still in the game, even with the challenges the industry throw at him.

“Even with all the support people around me give me, I am still pained by where I am as a musician as 15 years is a long time to still be in the same league I was when I started out. I feel like I am not growing and it hurts,” he said.

Macd released a single, Dellaman, meaning dealer man, where he featured Syntax. The song, he said, was inspired by his daily experiences and challenges.

“As someone who owns a shop, I deal with a variety of people from all walks of life every day. This song talks about how hard falls and fake friends can try to break you down but even through the circumstances, the song teaches you to keep fighting and never give up,” he explained.

He plans to have a launch for this single soon, followed by and emotional extended play (EP), where he hopes to feature three international artists.
