Six lion carcasses found on Bela Bela farm

"A pair of trousers with blood stains and tekkies were also found at the scene."

LIMPOPO – The Rust De Winter Police are looking for suspects responsible for the killing of six lions on a farm in the Bela-Bela Cluster.

It is allegedly a farm employee noticed the bloodstains and followed them to the six carcasses. “Four of carcasses had the heads and paws chopped off. The other two lions were also dead but with no missing body parts,” said Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

HE added that the preliminary Police investigations have indicated that the lions might have been poisoned to death, however,  the suspects in this matter are unknown and there is no arrest.

“A pair of trousers with blood stains and tekkies were also found at the scene.”
