Future Stars want to reignite love of sport at Cappies

Future Stars Group will host the first Capricorn High School Old Scholars Sports Festival on 26 and 27 July at the school.

POLOKWANE – The Capricorn High School Old Scholars Sports Festival aims to reignite passion for sport at Capricorn High School and will feature four sporting codes which will be six-a-side cricket, six-a-side soccer, netball and seven’s touch rugby.

All first teams of the above mentioned sporting codes will be requested to compete at no cost.

This is with the aim to raise money to refurbish the sports field, buy sports equipment and help acquire quality coaches.

The event will also provide the public and current scholars to interact with former successful scholars.

The cricket will be played on the Bain Lavers Oval, the netball at the netball courts and the rugby will be played at Mike’s Glass and soccer at Cheeky’s Field.

The cost of a franchise is R6 000 which covers nine players and a manager. This also includes a warm shirt, light lunch and drinks during the day.

There are nine spots available in each code with the 10th spot going to the first team.

“We know this sports festival will go a long way in reviving the sporting culture of the school. We truly hope people will look at this in a positive way and try to assist us in rebuilding the dignity and pride of Capricorn High School,” said Sedibu Mohlaba, the Director of Future Stars Group.
