#WFD – Bacon Griller Mac and Cheese

POLOKWANE – Who doesn’t love Mac and cheese? It’s probably one of the most popular dishes in the world.

What’s for Dinner says this easy to follow recipe will have the family begging for seconds and is perfect for everyone.

Ingredients

  1. 2 x KNORR Macaroni and Cheese Pasta and Sauce
  2. 15ml margarine
  3. 250g bacon griller sausages, sliced (or any smoked sausage)
  4. 1 red onion, finely diced
  5. 250g button mushrooms, sliced
  6. 45ml sweet chilli flavour cream cheese
  7. 100g cheddar cheese, grated
  8. 45ml breadcrumbs

Method

  1. Prepare and cook the macaroni as per the on-pack instructions.
  2. Melt the margarine in a frying pan and fry the sausages, onion and mushrooms until tender.
  3. Combine the sausage mixture with the cooked macaroni then stir in the cream cheese.
  4. Season (to taste) then transfer to an ovenproof casserole dish.
  5. Combine the breadcrumbs with the grated cheddar cheese and sprinkle over the macaroni.
  6. Place under a preheated grill until golden brown.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onion and cherry tomatoes.
