A Golden Key for former MECS learner

Lilly Labuschagne recently received a Golden Key award from the North West University in Potchefstroom.

MOKOPANE – Labuschagne matriculated from Mokopane English Combined School (MECS) in 2016, and is currently a second-year student at the university.

She is studying BA language and literary studies, with English, French and German, and plans to major in English.

She was the headgirl of MECS and Dux learner in 2016.

The Golden Key award is only awarded to the top 15% graduate students. Other alumni of MECS who received Golden Key awards in the past are Evelyn Toona and Eden Grosel.

The Golden Key is an internationally recognised, non-profit organisation affiliated with over 400 universities throughout Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Africa, India, the Bahamas and the United States. The society’s mission is to enable members to realise their potential by connecting individual achievement with service and lifelong opportunity.
