Roads in and out of Seshego open following community protest
Residents in the area were protesting over water meters installed by the Polokwane Municipality
POLOKWANE – According to the Polokwane Municipality the situation at Seshego is now calm following the community protest in the area on Thursday.
Roads are being cleared and traffic is flowing without any disruptions.
The area is still being monitored.

POLOKWANE – According to the spokesperson for the Department of Traffic, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala, the roads have been blocked since 06:05 this morning.

“Our traffic officials and the South African Police Service are monitoring the situation but we are heeding caution to motorists in the area and advising them to seek alternative routes,” he said.
Roads in and out Seshego are blocked with stones and burning tyres. It's community protest against New installation of meter reading. Police and Traffic Officers on the ground to try opening the roads. Motorists be safe. @TrafficSA @_ArriveAlive

What you need to know about the march
- Protestors are set to gather at SABC Park at 09:00 with 6 000 people expected.
- The march will commence at 10:00 from SABC Park and will turn into Excelsior Street.
- The march will then enter Hans van Rensburg and then into Bodenstein Street where they will proceed to the Municipality.
The march and all official proceedings are expected to end at midday.
