Conductor searches for new choir members

Choir Coach/Conductor Richard Nonyana from Polokwane is looking for a new team of choir singers to join him.

POLOKWANE – Nonyana, who worked with the Seshego Capricorn Campus Choir from 2011 to 2015, became the first conductor in Limpopo to take the TVET choir to nationals. He is now looking for a new choir.

“I’m targeting all areas, schools and churches in and around Polokwane, including Ga-Mashashane, Mankweng (Turfloop), Ga – Matlala, Seshego, Bochum, Dendron and Moletjie. If anyone is interested in singing in a choir, join me and let’s make magic, let’s fly the Limpopo kite high,” he said.

Richard is looking for singers between the ages of 17 and 38-years-old to be part of his team and says he doesn’t want compete with the team just yet, but wants to prep and polish them before competing professionally.

“The aim of the choir is to grow spiritually. I have learnt that in most churches, hymns are not sung properly, so I want to record hymns with the choir that I want, so it has to be people that are dedicated and love church,” he said.

Richard still coaches some choir groups in Limpopo, but wants to now focus on having his own choir and is currently searching for sponsors.

His wish is to see the choir traveling all over the world, showcasing their gifted voices by singing traditional hymns, touching peoples lives and also putting South Africa on the map.

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring or joining Richard in his choir, follow him on his social media, Facebook or WhatsApp him on 063 364 3050.
