The three suspects, between the ages of 26 and 35-years-old were arrested for illegal poaching on a local farm in Zebediela, in the early hours of Monday morning, 16 April.
The farmer heard gun shots around the farm and immediately contacted the Security Officer on duty as well as the police.
“A Nissan NP 200 bakkie was found parked along the road and later, an unknown man emerged from the bushes and was nabbed. The police followed up on information and two of his accomplices were cornered and arrested,” Ngoepe explained.
During the arrest, a spotlight; bush knife; rifle; 10 bullets and a firearm licence were found along with the bakkie and a Kudu.
Ngoepe says the suspects will appear before the Magatle Magistrates Court, soon and that investigations into the matter continue.
