#WFD – Chilli Con Carne Lamb Bunny

To serve spoon the lamb cubes into each hollowed out quarter loaf and garnish with fresh coriander.

POLOKWANE – If you’re not South African, you’d think this recipe has rabbit in it. But we’re all South African and if you’ve never has a bunny chow, are you even local?

What’s for Dinner says try South Africa’s most popular food on the go with their unique twist by preparing it with Knorr Naturally Tasty Chilli Con Carne.

Ingredients

  1. 15ml sunflower oil
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 1 red pepper, chopped
  4. 500 g lamb stewing cubes
  5. 1 x KNORR Naturally Tasty Chilli Con Carne Recipe Mix
  6. 1 tin chopped and peeled tomatoes
  7. 1 tin kidney beans, drained
  8. 300 ml water
  9. 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  10. 1 loaf white bread, quartered and hollowed out
  11. Fresh coriander for garnish

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pot and fry the onion and red pepper until soft.
  2. Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned.
  3. Add the contents of the sachet of KNORR Naturally Tasty Chilli Con Carne Recipe Mix, tinned tomatoes, kidney beans, water and potatoes.
  4. Bring to the boil stirring constantly then reduce the heat and allow to simmer covered for 15 – 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the potatoes are cooked.
  5. To serve spoon the lamb cubes into each hollowed out quarter loaf and garnish with fresh coriander.
