Burgersfort bus bombing suspects remanded in custody

The suspects' bail application will take place on 12 April in the Mecklenburg Magistrate's Court.

LIMPOPO – Four suspects arrested for the murder of six mine workers in Driekop on Monday, appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrates Court, today, 6 April.

The suspects, who are between 28 and 35-years-old, were all arrested on 4 April in the following areas: Driekop, Riba Cross, Mandagshoek and Mohlake.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects, along with the fifth suspect who appeared alone, are facing charges of six counts of murder, attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

“All four were remanded in custody and will next appear on 12 April for a formal bail application. All five suspects will appear in the Mecklenburg Magistrates Court,” he concluded.
