Police on lookout for fugitive (33)

Walter Maringa (33), is wanted in connection with the murder of Levubu farmer Bonnema Hendrik Pieter.

LIMPOPO – Peiter was apparently attacked stabbed that evening while entering his homestead at Lebuvu Farm F10 on 18 October 2016.

“According to earlier police investigation the motive of the incident was to rob the victim of his hard earned money but the mission was not accomplished and he fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone which was later recovered by the police during the suspect’s arrest,” said Police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Maringa appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court and was granted R5000 bail in the year 2016, however, thereafter skipped a court appearance scheduled for 27 December 2017.

A warrant of re arrest was issued.

The suspect may be linked to several farm murders in and around Levubu area, confirmed Ngoepe.

It is believed the suspect is hiding in Zimbabwe and police urge anyone with information which can lead to the re-arrest of this suspect to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501. ALternatively they can contact the 24-hour crime stop number 0860010111, the crime line sms 32211 or the nearest Police Station.
