“Special days such as Valentine’s Day are extremely important especially from the women’s perspective in almost every romantic relationship. We however financially can’t afford all those lavish expensive getaways or buying expensive gifts for our loved ones during such days and moments,” he explained.

Mohlala gave us a few tips on how to go about making the day as memorable as possible, even if one’s finances aren’t in your favour.

“The living room interior decor needs effort, first things first is trying to change the layout of the space, be it the lounge area or the dining area, to give a different perspective of the room, in this case we will need to give it a Valentine’s Day theme so that it goes with the occasion. The second step is making sure that the space planning is well coordinated so your space doesn’t look cluttered.

You can place a few objects (ornaments) in red or white to go for your traditional Valentine’s theme. Be sure to get scatter cushions, vases and a throw to lift your space. If your couch has a cream color, avoid using more of the white ornaments and rather opt for the red ones as they will ensure a beautiful contrast as opposed to the white against the cream background.

The backyard is much easier because you will not have to match against any walls. It would be an added advantage if you have a beautiful garden to give a green background for the proper outdoors ambience. You may take your indoors dining suite to the outdoors and set it with red napkins on the opposite side of the table and white napkins on the other to add flair. The other option could be to use ottomans in the theme colors and different patterns, also add scatter cushions in complimenting colors and use a palette frame as your table and dress it with a table cloth,” he shared.

Give any of these tips a try and make your special day a breeze!
