Nissan Qashqai 1.2T Visia: Nothing but a pleasure to drive!

While Bosveld was taking the new Nissan Qashqai 1.2T Visia for a spin around town, it was clear that the Japanese definitely delivered more than a promise by building this reliable, sophisticated and comfortable model.

MOKOPANE – When comparing this 6-speed manual model to the older versions, a few changes such as the redesigned alloy wheels, rear lights with a strong signature and 3D effect, a new ‘shark fin’ antenna with a redesigned rear bumper and even the new family identity’s latest ‘V-motion’ grille have been made to deliver this upscale vehicle.

Bosveld is impressed by not only the look of the Qashqai but by the feel of the vehicle when driving.

This car is well made for the everyday driver or for a family out on holiday.

It has more than enough space for five people and safety is not a problem with the extra safety belt located in the middle of the back seat.

This vehicle will surely go a long way, same goes for your wallet as its fuel consumption is merely 6.2l/100km.

When it comes to power this Qashqai is not shy and delivers 85 kW at 4500rpm. It even handles excellent on gravel roads. According to Nissan, this Qashqai can deliver 185km/h at top speed which is not hard to believe as we topped 150km/h on a turn without feeling a slight sideway motion of the car. It sits exceptionally well around the bends while you can almost feel the mechanicals and the electronics engaging you in the process.

An abundance of space in the rear passenger side.

The interior of the vehicle is quite standard as this is an entry-level vehicle. It is beautifully upholstered with part leather seats and a urethane covered steering wheel. It has a massive centre console with enough space to place a water bottle inside.

Although it has numerous inclusions, the model still surprised us with the latest technology and infotainment systems such as a radio with MP3, CD, AM/FM, USB, auxiliary jack and its iPod compatibility.

A USB and auxiliary input point can also be found in the centre console.

A simple yet classy infotainment system.

A standard hands-free Bluetooth system, audio controls, cruise control and an onboard computer is situated on the steering wheel, not far from reach.

It has a fully working air conditioning system which is a must in the bushveld. The boot has more than enough space to fit all your luggage and according to Nissan, it has a 430l boot capacity.

There is also a lot of leg space in the front and back to ensure the most comfortable driving experience.

No wonder a lot of people are loving this model. It is nothing but a pleasure to drive!
