THE POLICE HAVE INTERCEPTED YET ANOTHER TRIO CRIME SYNDICATE : 2017-12-21 :
LIMPOPO – One armed suspect was shot dead and two others arrested following a shoot-out with police officers on Thursday morning n Malamulele outside Giyani..
According to Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the officers were acting on information received about a group of suspects en route to commit business robbery in the area. “They intercepted the group and attempted to ‘pull them off the road’, but the suspects refused to cooperate and a crossfire ensued. One 34-year-old suspect was shot dead during the shoot-out, two were arrested and the fourth managed to evade arrest,” he explained.
During the arrest a 9mm firearm, 8 rounds of ammunition, 2 cellphones and 10 cable ties were recovered.
The arrested suspects will appear before Malamulele Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and possession of firearm and ammunition without licence.
These ssuepcts may be linked to similar trio crimes which have been committed in and around the Thohoyandou and Giyani Clusters.
Police investigations are still continuing.
