Muni scales down over festive season

Emergency and essential services like fire and rescue, water and sanitation, electrical services, traffic and community services will, however, be available at all times to the community.

POLOKWANE – The municipality will close for the festive season for six working days from 24 to 31 December.
“This is in view of the fact that during this period most of the departments in the municipality are not active while others only require a skeleton staff complement to run operations,” the Public Participation and Communications Unit stated in a press release.
Emergency and essential services like fire and rescue, water and sanitation, electrical services, traffic and community services will, however, be available at all times to the community. Normal operations will resume on 2 January.
Essential services staff will continue to render services for critical areas of work within the city during this period. Operating hours for the rates hall at the civic centre will be from 08:00 to 12:00 during this period.
Prepaid electricity can be purchased through mobile phones or at the vending machines outside the civic centre, municipal offices at Seshego Zone 3 and Savannah Mall or at shops which usually sell electricity.
The public can call the standby number for vending machine queries at 082 895 4422 or 081 747 0878 in town and for the prepaid at Seshego at 081 716 1343 should they experience problems.
The public can call 083 673 3238 or 083 301 3738 for disconnection of water and electricity enquiries.
Municipal accounts can be paid through electronic funds transfer or through EasyPay.

Electronic transfers can be made directly into the municipality’s bank account:
Standard Bank Polokwane.
Acc: 030 172 349.
Branch: 052 548.
EasyPay payments can be made at any Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woolworths and Spar.
The municipality wishes all its clients a Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
