Top five FREE games to get your kids this holiday on PC

FREE does not always mean bad!

Free online games a few years ago were next to impossible to play due to line latency.

However, due to the increase in fibre to home, uncapped ADSL and the laying of undersea cables, a playable pingto servers in Europe has finally been achieved.
A warning to anyone wanting to play online, all sites (because of region blocking) will attempt to send you to an American (NA) server. Always select a European (EU) server. You will always be asked and they will always recommend the NA server. Ignore the suggestion, as latency to the NA servers will be double and any game will be virtually unplayable.

EVE Online:
This is a massive, multi-player, online experience with thousands of players interacting in the same instance. To put this in terms you may understand, most online games limit the player count to less than 100 in any instance of the game. So what is new for ‘Free to Play’ players?
With the upcoming December release, pilots both new and old will benefit from free access to all Tech I hulls up to Battleship class as part of a large addition of skills to the Alpha skillset. Cross-faction training will also be available for free, allowing for Alpha clone access to vessels across all factions in New Eden. To supplement this change, free access will also be granted to skills that allow for the use of Tech II small and medium weapons systems.
