Services came back online just after 11:00, South African time.
POLOKWANE – WhatsApp services have returned to normal after a brief outage in both South Africa and around the world.
Whatsapp, however, has not made a formal statement regarding the outage.
POLOKWANE – Users of the popular app are unable to send or receive messages on the app.
The problem is being experienced globally with users taking to twitter to share their frustration.

The app doesn’t initially look broken, with chats and contacts able to load. But once a user is into a chat, the app just shows a “connecting” message that never resolves itself, and so new messages can’t be sent or received.
It is unknown when the problem will be fixed but for now, why not send an old school sms or continue scrolling through the Review website for news.
