LIMPOPO -These crime intelligence-led operations comprised members from Crime Itelligence, the K9 Unit, Laersdeift SAPS and Cluster First Responder Team and focused on house robberies, carjacking and business robberies, said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
“The first suspect was apprehended in Mamelodi, Gauteng province, the second at Phokwane in Nebo the third one at Stofberg between Groblersdal and Middleburg.”
During these arrests, the police recovered 2 rifles, 700 rounds of ammunition for a rifle, a 9mm pistol, 166 rounds of ammunition for a pistol, a 38 special firearm with 200 round of life ammunition, a PNE laptop and a Plasma TV.
These suspected stolen properties were found at the home of one of the suspects. One of the firearms was robbed from the legal owner during a house robbery that was committed on 28 September 2017 at Laersdrift. Other properties were stolen during house breaking and theft at Laersdrift during October 2017, added Mojapelo.
The suspects (aged between 26 and 29) are expected to appear before the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday , 30 October 2017 on charges of house robbery, unlawful possession of arms and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen property, Mojapelo conlcuded.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba commended this team of dedicated members for a well coordinated operation that led to these simultaneous arrests.
