[INFOGRAPHICS] #CrimeStats: Robbery and drug related crime increase in Limpopo

Police minister Fikile Mbalula announced the crime stats for 2016/2017 today.

POLOKWANE – Mbalula noted that 1 738 980 serious crimes were committed in the 2016/2017 period.

Police recorded crime statistics are derived from administrative data collection processes.

Mbalula says the statistics enable government, parliament, civil society and people of South Africa to monitor key targets as set out in the Medium Term Strategic Framework (MTSF).

He says the statistics could also be utilized as early warnings to strengthen crime prevention operations and strategies of various departments in Government.
