Muni says ‘save water’ as planned Tzaneen blackout could further affect water supply

The Polokwane Municipality says residents should take water alerts seriously to ensure stability in reservoir levels.

POLOKWANE – Residents who are not affected by water shortages in the city and other areas such as Seshego, are encouraged to use water sparingly as reservoir levels are still very low and affecting those in the higher catchment areas, says the Municipality.

The municipality says this alert should be taken seriously to ensure reservoir levels stabilise as there is a planned maintenance by Tzaneen Municipality today, which will affect supply from Ebenezer plant.

The municipality will continue to provide temporary relief to affected areas through water tankers.

“Water usage should be strictly utilised for domestic consumption whilst watering of gardens should be avoided during this period,” it said.

Those affected by the current shortages are urged to report to the water help centre on 0152902629/2376.
