Two ATMs blown up during armed robbery at Letsitele petrol station

"It is not clear whether the suspects took any money from the machines," says the police

LIMPOPO – The Letsitele Police have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects responsible for blowing up two ATMs in the Letsitele CBD outside Tzaneen at around midnight on Saturday evening.

Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe reported: “It is aĺleged that a group of  armed suspects accosted the petrol attendants before tying them up. During the incident the suspects used explosives to blow up two ATMs.”

“It is not clear whether the suspects took any money from the machines as a security vehicle responding to the alarm arrived on the scene. The suspects shot at the vehicle before they fled the scene,” he added.

The police appeal to anyone with information about these suspects involved in this incidents to contact Lt Colonel Cecil Machimani at 082 451 7181. Alternatively they can contact their nearest Police Station, the 24-hour crime stop number 0860010111 or the crime line sms 32211.

Police investigations continue, he concluded.
