Miss Westenburg V-dub crowned
Miss Westenburg V-dub was crowned after a breathtaking pageant, in remembrance of the late Shannon Sacco.
POLOKWANE – The pageant on Saturday, 30 September at Westenburg Secondary School was hosted by the Westenburg V-dub Crew, to honour the late Shannon who died in a hit-and-run accident on her way home from school in March last year.

There were 28 contestants who participated, nine girls in the Little Miss Westenburg V-dub aged six to nine years old category, 10 girls in the Junior Miss Westenburg V-dub aged 10 to 14 years old category and nine girls in the Miss Westenburg V-dub 16 to 19 years old category.
The contestants had the opportunity to impress the judges on stage in different categories which included casual wear, sportswear, all white and evening wear. Between each category there were Westenburg artists who entertained the guests with song and dance.
There were also lucky draws with Westenburg V-dub goodies and other vouchers up for grabs.

Conroe Ross, Westenburg V-dub Crew President, thanked all the contestants for their participation as well as everyone in the community who came to support the event.

We would also like to thank each and everyone of our sponsors, the event would not have been complete without your help and support. I thank the crew for their dedication and hard work that made this event such a success. A special thanks goes to Shirley-Ann More who single-handedly arranged the fine details of the pageant, which was a job well done. We also thank Westenburg Secondary School Principal, Bettie Boom, and the rest of the school management for allowing us to use the school as a venue and a big thanks to our judges,” he said.
