Limpopo Birding Routes is proud to present the 2017 Birds and Forest Festival, based at the Magoebaskloof Hotel, from 19 to 22 October.

LIMPOPO – The Magoebaskloof forest offers some of the best forest birding in the country, with vast tracts of easily accessible indigenous Afromontane forest and many sought after specials.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore the finest birding sites in the region with top bird guides to find the more elusive species.

Specialists in their field will give fascinating presentations on a wide range of subjects, including African Crowned Eagles, Cape Parrots, Gurney’s Sugarbirds, Cavity – nesting birds, forest ecology, orchids, Samango Monkeys, bats, butterflies, dragonflies, reptiles and frogs and wildflowers.

Visitors can look forward to spending the weekend with leading ornithologists including Dr Warwick Tarboton, Dr Garth Batchelor, Prof Craig Symes, Prof Derek Engelbrecht and Joe Grosel.

The weekend will begin with a gala dinner with entertaining guest speakers on the Thursday evening.
