Man arrested for unlawful possession of Rock Python near Nkowankowa

Limpopo SAPS reacted to a tip off from the community.

LIMPOPO – Police in Ritavi, outside Tzaneen arrested the 44-year-old man in Petanenge village, near Nkowankowa.

Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says police reacted to a tip-off from the community about the activities of the suspect and found him in possession of the snake and arrested him.

The origin of the snake and why the suspect had it in his possession is unknown.

“The suspect opted to pay an admission of guilt and paid a fine of R500,” says Ngoepe.

The python was handed over to the nature conservation.
