Mrs Polokwane finalists ‘Pay It Forward’ with toys and books

Tebogo Modiba, one of the Mrs Polokwane 2018 finalists, and her organisation, Pay It Forward, took the opportunity to give back to the community when they recently visited the burn unit at the Mankweng Hospital.

POLOKWANE – During this visit Tebogo adopted the children’s ward of the burn unit and decided to help them in various ways.

She collected books and toys among other items which her organisation donated to the ward to help stimulate and educate the children who often have to spend long periods at the hospital due to their injuries.

“These items will help keep the children busy and entertained which will in turn help them to heal faster due to their positive attitude. As a former nurse I know how much pain these children go through, especially during and after the dressing of the wounds. Having books and toys to keep them busy will be a big help to them. My wish is to do even more for them so they are kept entertained.”

Janine Kruger, another Mrs Polokwane 2018 finalist, helped Tebogo to get a donation of books and educational materials from Bargain Books Mall of the North.

Janine said when she phoned Bianca Adendorf from Bargain Books, Adendorf agreed to the idea almost immediately as she is also passionate about helping the community, especially children.

“I really appreciate all the donations and assistance we receive. With your help we can make a big difference in the lives of these children by using the Mrs Polokwane pageant as a platform to help launch their dreams,” Janine said.
