SA Run 4 Cancer Ultra Marathon
The Polokwane Athletics Club calls on people who love to run to diarise Saturday, 28 October for the runs in and around the city.
POLOKWANE – Creating cancer awareness is something which comes under the spotlight again in October when the SA Run 4 Cancer Ultra Marathon will take place in the city.
The five runs are:
• The 48 km will start at the old Mokopane Route close to Mokopane Toll Gate at 06:00.
• The 32 km will start at the old Mokopane Route close to Wenen Bricks Toll Gate at 06:00.
• The 21 km will start at the old Mokopane Route close to the Ranch Hotel at 06:00
• The 10 km will start at the Polokwane Cricket Club at 07:00.
• The 5 km will start at the Polokwane Cricket Club at 07:30.
Entry fees:
• R60 for the 5 km with no licence fee.
• R165 for the 10 km with a R30 licence fee.
• R170 for the 21 km with a R30 licence fee and a R45 bus ticket.
• R205 for the 32 km with a R30 licence fee and a R45 bus ticket.
• R265 for the 48 km with a R30 licence fee and a R45 bus ticket.
Pre-entries can be done online at www.protime.co.za and each online entrant will receive a T-shirt that can be collected at the Polokwane Athletics Club.
Pre-entries will close on 22 October.
Other entries can be made at the Polokwane Cricket Club until Friday, 27 October for the 5, 10, 21, 32 and 48 km runs between 16:00 and 20:00.
On race day registration for the 5 and 10 km runs will only be open from 04:00 until 06:00 at the Polokwane Cricket Club. Runner’s won’t receive a T-shirt then.
All runners making use of the transport provided must take note the bus will leave the Polokwane Cricket Club at 04:30 for the races outside town. The use of the buses is recommended as the road will be closed from 05:00 for the races.
The marathon will also count as qualifiers for the Two Oceans and Comrades Marathons.
