LIMPOPO – Police have opened an inquest docket after a 40-year-old member of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) allegedly shot his wife, shot and killed his mother-in-law, before before turning the gun on himself in Ga-Rakgoatha village outside Lebowakgomo.
It is alleged the man, who resided at Emdo Park in Polokwane, had a domestic dispute with his wife yesterday (Thursday). She ran away to her parental home in Magatle where he followed her. “On arrival at the house he started shooting, killing his mother-in law instantly and seriously wounding his wife.
“The wife survived with serious gun shot wounds and is still recuperating in hospital,” said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
The mother-in-law was in her 60s and the wife in her 30s, added Ngoepe.
The officer was found lying dead in the same house with a bullet wound to the head. The cause of domestic dispute is still unknown.
Cases of murder and attempted murder is being investigated, he concluded.
