Making a difference, one smile at a time
ATKV recently payed it forward at the Touch Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital.
POLOKWANE – It is not easy to smile when times are tough but having the right attitude can make someone else’s day.
The personnel at ATKV – Eiland Spa challenged all other ATKV resorts to go into the community and put smiles on people’s faces.
On Thursday, André Nagel and Etienne Oosthuizen, visited residents in Polokwnae to make them smile.
They paid a visit to the children in the Touch Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital where they spent time with the children and their parents. After that they visited Centenary House to listen to Jimmy Letswalo’s story.
Jimmy is a quadriplegic, who was in an accident in 1988.
Lunch was time spent with the siblings of some children that have cancer in order to tell them they are not forgotten. And the day ended with a visit to Sannie Strydom (93)
“We want to put smiles on other people’s faces,” explain Nagel. “We contacted René Robberts at the Cancer Association of Souht Africa (Cansa) Polokwane who then assisted us with identifying people that needs to smile. We will definitely return and bring smiles to more people.”
