How to spoil mommy this Mother’s Day

Local fashion designer Palesa Sekhaolelo shares some tips on how to make Sunday a special event

POLOKWANE – Palesa, her daughter Angel, and her partner Sarel Nong, former president of the Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club, plan to spend the day together.

She said they are going to start off their day at church, then head to the mall for some shopping and more shopping.

“Mommy must get pampered but then again, my Angel must also be spoiled. I’m a mother because of her after all, so this day is as much about me as it is about her,” she explained.

Palesa and her daughter, Angel, wear beautiful matching outfits.

After the mall she said they will visit Angel’s grandmothers and spend the rest of the day with them. “They’re also our mother’s mothers so we want to make the day just as special for them,” Palesa explained.

Palesa’s tips on how to spend Mother’s Day with the family:

• For mothers with girls, go shopping for similar outfits prior the special day and dress up together. For mothers with sons, coordinate your outfit colours. “My daughter loves it when we wear similar clothes, she says mama we are ‘same same’, she joked.

• Go watch a movie, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be you and your child or children, it’s also a perfect way to spend some quality time with your family rather than just mommy and baby.

• Take a little drive out of town, or go somewhere you haven’t been before, to go have lunch with the family.

• Go on a Mother’s Day picnic. Prepare something special at home to enjoy on the picnic site, especially one with a beautiful view.
