Assistant director nabbed in Marble Hall for corruption

The suspect allegedly demanded R9 000 from a complainant in order to secure a contract.

LIMPOPO – The arrest of the 43-year-old man was done by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Unit on Friday.

Hawks spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke said the suspect is linked to the Department of Agriculture in Marble Hall and was arrested for alleged corruption.

“The matter was referred to the Hawks who acted swiftly and resulted in the arrest of the suspect after he fell into a police trap,” said Maluleke.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Marble Hall Magistrate Court on Monday, 8 May, and will face possible corruption charges pending a further probe.
