HAENERTSBURG: Manhunt for three awaiting trial escapees
The Police in Haenertsburg have launched a manhunt for the three awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from the police holding cells last night (Friday).
LIMPOPO – According to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the incident was uncovered during a routine check in and around the cells. “The circumstances surrounding the escape is still being investigated.”
The escapees have been identified as Abel Modiba (27) and Thomas Nkuna (33) who face a charge of house robbery and Elia Makgaba (28) who was arrested for armed robbery.
A case of escaping from lawful custody has been opened. They have been no arrests and police investigations continue.
