[INFOGRAPHIC] Department of Health tables budget

The budget tabled by the MEC for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, for the 2017/18 financial year totaled R18 billion.

POLOKWANE – The budget comprises of R15,4 billion equitable share, R2,4 billion conditional grants and R183,9 million own revenue and has increased by 5,5% with the equitable share increased by 4,3% and the conditional grants by 14,6% from the 2016/17 adjusted allocation.

Construction of six new clinics will commence during the new financial year, as well as the staff accommodation at Mokopane Hospital.

The new offices at Ernesto Che Guevara House will be completed, as well as three clinics being built, in partnership with Anglo Platinum, along with five other clinics in the province.

She also said she will work with the Ministers of Finance and Health in planning the Limpopo Central Hospital and the medical school at the University of Limpopo.
