[WATCH] Enter Sandra Khoza’s world of physics

Review recently visited one of Sandra's Physics classes at Capricorn High School where we also spoke to some learners about what makes her so unique.

POLOKWANE – Sandra Khoza was recently awarded first place in Excellence in Teaching Physical Science at this year’s National Teachers Awards.

Described by her students as not only a teacher, but a mother figure, it’s no wonder why Sandra came out tops at this year’s National Teachers Awards.

Sandra began teaching at the age of 23 and has a wealth of knowledge behind her.

What makes her so unique is that she makes use of technological devices such as simulations, the internet, role plays and games to make learning easier for her students. She says these methods helps learners understand concepts and own them.

Sandra says she always puts her students first and says she encourages her learners to think by constantly asking them questions in class.

This is something her learners appreciate and love most about her.

One of her matric learners, Mosa Letsoalo, wrote the following about her:

“Mrs Khoza’s teaching is unique because she gives us summary notes about the topic we have to do days before she starts teaching it. I like the fact that she makes jokes while she is teaching and I won’t forget because I remember the joke.”
